jo2cool`s Guide how to get a Magic Pure
« on: March 23, 2011, 10:22:42 pm »
A "Magic Pure", is a person who just trains Constitution and Magic as a combat skill. There are many strengths and weaknesses to a magic pure, such as...

Strengths
?Easy to train.
?Own at low level.
?Extremely high hits at very low level.
?Bind.
?If you get another magic pure to team you rule :L.
?Hits armour hard.
Weaknesses
?Can be expensive depending on training strategy.
?Take hits regularly.
?Ranges can sometimes be better at higher level due to dragonhide.
If your going to be a good magic pure then your going to need money. Alot of the guides i've seen dont explain this. Since the Free Trade is back now you could easily trade money from your main to your pure if you have one. If not, then I suggest you head over to Stronghold and get 10k by completing each floor. Once you have 10k, buy supplies for botting either Woodcutting, Fishing, or Mining. Again all these methods have strengths and weaknesses.

Woodcutting Strengths
?Very easy to train (1-60 in proberly about 15 hours if you train it properly).
?Yews are currently 500+ gp at the moment making lots of easy money very quickly.
?If you do become a member F2P Yew spots are usually empty.
Woodcutting Weaknesses
?Overcrowded about 80% of the time.
?Many botters.
Fishing Strengths
?Easy to train on due to Salmon and Trout powerfishing.
?Overcrowdedness doesnt matter.
?Many fishing spots.
?You could train cooking while you fish.
Fishing Weaknesses
?Lobsters is now a useless money making method as they are around 130gp each and was once the key money making method for F2P fishing.
Mining Strengths
?Many spots for iron ore (some better than others).
?Iron ore price is high.
Mining Weaknesses
?Players with higher mining level and with rune pickaxe get the ore almost instantly.
?Overcrowded in all good locations.
?Alot of clicking (unless you bot it).
I would suggest training any of the above skills but choose the one you are most comfortable with but make sure you dont stop training that skill as I reccomend it as your prime money maker as a F2P player.

I reccomend getting around 3M-5M before actually training your magic so that your never low on supplies.

Go to The Grand Exchange and buy...
?3 Air Staffs
?3 Water Staffs
?3 Earth Staffs
?3 Fire Staffs
?10 Blue Wizard Hats
?10 Wizard Robes
?10 Blue Skirts
?10 Antidragonfire Shields (optional)
?10 Amulets of Magic
?10 Leather Boots
?10 Capes (of your choice)
?10 Gloves (optional)
?15K Air Runes
?2.5K Mind Runes
?3K Chaos Runes
The reason for the uneven amount of runes is your never know for certain how fast you are going to level due to not knowing what your are going to hit. To train, simply equip the staff of the spell you are casting (Water Strike - Water Staff) and use all the runes you have (you may have leftover air runes).

Cows (1-13)
Cows are great xp for training at the start as you can safespot from behind the fence. I dont expect you need money at this time because if you followed the guide properly you would have plenty, but if you skipped that bit then you could collect cowhides and bank in Lumbride / Al Kharid.

Skeletons/Zombies (13-45/99)
Skeletons and zombies are great xp for any level in magic as magic is there weakness. There are some nice safespots in Varrock Dungeon. Make sure you use the remainder of your mind runes / chaos runes that you bought from The Grand Exchange here.

Now that you have a high magic level (possibly over 45), I would reccomend sticking to a bolt spell for the rest of your training. Buy around 15K of a bolt spell of your choice and either stay at skelentons, or go to lesser demons.

Lesser Demons (45-99)
Once again Lesser Demons weakness is magic, meaning harder hits. These are located on Karajama and again have safe spots. You can pick up a few Rune Med Helms.

Training Tips
?I reccomend bringing around 10 Tuna with you if you go training but get hit in one of the safespots, as a lesser demon or a zombie can hit some decent damage to pures.
?A good strategy for Lesser Demons is fishing tuna in Karajama, cooking it, then using it to train. So you will never need to bank for food.
?A varrock teleport is reccomended.
?When you get up to the bolt spells, I reccomend choosing just one of these spells to train with.
?NEVER Train with Death Runes.
?It can get boring, so I reccomend going on MSN or Facebook, or playing a game while training.
PKing
I would say this is the best thing about a magic pure due to there high hits at low levels. You can stop training at any time to go PKing as you dont really need certain requiremants to own. I reccomend going multi for magic pking because if you get a team of about 4 and none of them are mages, you will commonly be the one who deals the most damage, meaning you get the loot. I know that your team says "Share", and spams your chat box with trades, but give each of them a very small amount.

Inventory PKing would be...
?Runes for your main spell.
?Varrock Teleport Runes.
?Possibly Bind Runes.
?The rest either Lobster or a mixture of Swordfish and Lobster.
Alching
Alching is a great xp method, however, it will not train your Constitution. The choice is yours.
If you want low Constitution but higher Magic, you can train by teleports, curse, alching etc, however I dont reccomend it.
